What is all this?

Welcome to Pod Creatures!

I’m Marianna. I’m pretty cool and nice! I live in Toronto and I love podcasts. So, you guessed it: This is a blog where I explore and highlight podcasters in Toronto.

What’s a podcast?
A podcast is a digital audio (sometimes video) series recorded and uploaded to the Internet and made available for download or streaming. The rise of podcasts began somewhere in the early 2000’s and has since straight up supernova’d into a huge community filled with literally thousands of podcasts covering almost any topic you could possibly think of. Topics can range from fictional narratives to Canadian politics to improv comedy to prank calling people and asking if they know who Jason Segel is (an actual podcast that exists).

Lately, I’ve been diving into the Toronto podcasting scene and I am thrilled to report that it is so rich with quality content! That’s why I started this blog. I want to shed light on the unique and talented people who make podcasts in our city. Stay tuned for questions like: “How do you balance work and family life?” and “What’s your worst quality as a human being?” Just kidding, those are lame questions. I’ll probably come up with better ones. Read the blog to find out!
